Happy New Year, Happy Living!

Wikipedia: Anaïs Nin (Spanish: [anaˈis ˈnin]; born Angela Anaïs Juana Antolina Rosa Edelmira Nin y Culmell; February 21, 1903 – January 14, 1977) was an author born to Cuban parents in France, where she was also raised. She spent some time in Spain and Cuba but lived most of her life in the United States where she became an established author. She wrote journals (which span more than 60 years, beginning when she was 11 years old and ending shortly before her death).

“Throw you dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.”

“People living deeply have no fear of death.”

“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.”

“Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.”

“Living never wore one out so much as the effort not to live.”

“And the day came when the risk to remain a tight bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
