Happy 10th Birthday Very Smart Girls!

in Inspiration

When I launched Very Smart Girls 10 years ago I knew I had to be courageous and vulnerable. I did not know how healing and uplifting it would be for me. Today I experience more acceptance, patience, trust, freedom, fun, and creativity – priceless.

Very Smart Girls became an inner journey that resulted in many transformational outer experiences. I wrote 112 blogs, lived in New York City for two years (my first time living in a big city), began a daily meditation practice, purposely stepped out of my comfort zone for two 1-year periods (in addition to New York City!), volunteered for more than 1300 hours, lodged in monasteries, reconciled broken relationships, built deeper and more fun relationships, finalized the framework for a book, and more.

“What we achieve inwardly will change our outer reality.” Plutarch (c. AD 46 – c. 120)

My first quote on Very Smart Girls is as relevant to me today as it was 10 years ago:

“The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences.”   Eleanor Roosevelt (1884 – 1962)

The goal of Very Smart Girls is to provide easily accessible, useful, and timeless concepts and resources for you to use at any age. You may notice that Very Smart Girls will not specifically tell you, for example, how to lose 20 pounds. The goal is to provide the tools for you to manifest whatever you choose to manifest. The essence of Very Smart Girls is about personal and professional growth and development; keys to success include willingness, mindfulness, and joyful practice.

Thank you for all the positive feedback and for the opportunity to be of service!
