For me, just like setting a goal or deciding to learn something new, I find it helps to publicly commit to my new behavior. Tell your spouse, partner, friend or colleague or put a note on the fridge, or leave the floss out every day until you make it the 33 days (I hate clutter & finally getting to put it away was great motivator for me). We are all motivated by different things at different stages of our life and sometimes internal motivation is not enough. Having the support of someone (or some group), being accountable to someone , the fear publicly failing or embarrassing yourself - whatever your motivation, any of these (or more) can help you stick with it. And accountability can simply be to yourself - putting X's on a calendar, or checks on a list can do wonders for a sense of accomplishment.
